Vegas has the Eagles' 2021 over/under win total set at 6.5. They are projected to be the worst team in the NFC East.
Former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil, however, says not so fast. Vermeil is very bullish about Philadelphia's offensive line, with many stud players returning from injury.
"I think they'll be surprisingly good," Vermeil said of the 2021 Eagles on the Upon Further Review Podcast with Zach Brook. "You get an All-Pro right tackle back [in Lane Johnson], healthy. You get an All-Pro right guard [in Brandon Brooks] back, healthy. You get either a first-round pick from two years ago back healthy to play left-tackle or the big, strong Australian [Jordan Mailata] that came on as a non-football player and it looks like he's gonna be. You get him back. You've got the left-guard back. You've got an All-Pro center back [in Jason Kelce]. Why not have a good football team? Unless they go through the same injury problem, I think they'll be very good.
"Now they have two first-round pick wide receivers [in Jalen Reagor and DeVonta Smith]. They have one quality tight end locked in [in Dallas Goedert] and of course the other quality tight end may [in Zach Ertz] or may not be here, I hope he is. I think they'll be an excellent football team. My concern is their secondary. Will that be good against the best? But I bet they'll win 10 games, maybe more."
Vermeil also talked about Doug Pederson's departure, new head coach Nick Sirianni, and touched on national topics like the Aaron Rodgers situation in Green Bay. You can listen to the full podcast here.
