The Giants ran in a key touchdown late in the first half to pull within a touchdown of the Packers in London, but was there more trickery planned on the play?

In the waning minutes of the second quarter, Daniel Jones broke right out of the shotgun and pitched it back to Saquon Barkley, who broke left and flipped it to tight end Daniel Bellinger. As he made his way towards Jones on the right side, Bellinger appeared to start to cock his arm back multiple times for a potential pass, before tucking and rumbling into the end zone for the score.

With Bellinger clearly looking like he had an intent to throw, NFL Twitter immediately speculated that Big Blue was trying to pull off the Philly Special, made famous by Doug Pederson in the Eagles in their Super Bowl win against the Patriots.

Some said it felt wrong for the Giants to try for a play trademarked by a hated division rival, even though they weren’t able to fully pull it off. Nevertheless, it ended in a touchdown.
