In just his second NFL start, Jalen Hurts dazzled completing 24 of 44 passes for 338 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no turnovers while rushing for another 63 yards and a score.

Unfortunately, the performance wasn't enough, as the Eagles fell to the Cardinals 33-26.

Philadelphia's head coach Doug Pederson praised Hurts on Monday's 94WIP Morning Show.

"I saw a guy that did play well," Pederson told Angelo Cataldi of Hurts. "I saw a guy that led the football team. I saw a guy that played tough physically and mentally. But at the end, we didn't do enough to win. He's such a great competitor that he wanted the ball in his hands at the end, and we didn't get it done. One thing I appreciate about Jalen is how humble he stays and just his demeanor and takes a lot of responsibility and ownership of that and very mature that way. But overall I thought he did some very good things, leading us back really from 16 points down to really put us in a position to take that game over."

Cataldi needled Pederson on revealing who his starting QB would be next week, which will almost certainly be Hurts over Carson Wentz. And while Pederson refused to give an answer, he did say he will likely announce his decision during his Monday afternoon press conference.
