Former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson gave an exclusive interview to Angelo Cataldi and the WIP Morning Show on Monday, touching on all of the topics many fans have wondered about since his surprise firing at the end of the 2020 season.

In addition to talking about the team's magical run to the Super Bowl in 2017, Pederson talked about -- of course -- the quarterback drama that has surrounded this team almost every season since that championship.

Specifically, Cataldi asked Pederson if Jalen Hurts is going to be great.

"Is he going to be great?" Pederson said. "I think that's up to Jalen. Do I have faith and belief that he can be? I think he can go in that direction.

"This guy has won everywhere he's been. If you look at the college career, it was never an easy one. He faced adversity, he faced a benching, he went through all of that turmoil and yet he came out extremely well. Those are the things that attracted me to Jalen Hurts, not only his ability to play quarterback, but the fact that this guy is wired the right way. Now listen, you've got to understand this is really his first year of playing football in the National Football League. Obviously he's working through an injury now, so we'll see what happens in the future. But he's wired the right way."
