Georgia North, take six, is bringing the Birds a new RB1.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles are acquiring D’Andre Swift from Detroit for a swap of seventh-round picks – the Eagles sending No. 219 to Detroit for No. 249 – and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

Swift, 24, grew up in Philly and is a St. Joe’s Prep grad, and he has amassed 1,680 yards and 18 touchdowns in 39 career games since being a second-round pick of the Lions in 2020.

He has never truly been RB1 in the Lions’ backfield, sharing time with Kerryon Johnson and Adrian Peterson as a rookie and Jamaal Williams the last two seasons. Detroit lost Williams but added former Bear David Montgomery and drafted Jahmyr Gibbs in the first round on Thursday, so Swift will now get to spend the final year of his rookie deal sharing a Philly backfield with Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell, and recently-signed Rashaad Penny.

Oh, and he’s now the sixth ex-Georgia Bulldog on the roster, three of which were drafted this year to join holdovers Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean.

And, for those worried about trading a 2025 pick for one year of Swift, know this: should he leave after this season, the Eagles would get a compensatory pick in 2025...meaning they could actually get one year of Swift and move UP in the 2025 Draft.
