Eagles move up one spot, take Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell at No. 31 overall in 2025 NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles moved up slightly in the 2025 NFL Draft, sliding up from No. 32 to No. 31 in the first round to select Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell.

In the deal with Kansas City, the Birds sent one of their 2025 fifth-round picks, No. 164 overall, to the Chiefs to swap first-rounders.

Campbell, who is from Gloucester Township, was a five-star recruit out of IMG Academy in Florida after three years at Timber Creek HS, and he put himself on the map by starting eight of 13 games played and notching 66 tackles (4 for loss), an interception, and three pass breakups as a sophomore in 2023.

He was then a First Team All-SEC selection as a junior, starting all 13 games and notching a team-high 117 tackles (11.5 for loss), five sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, and two pass breakups.

Campbell is a versatile MIKE who can play inside or outside, either rushing the passer or playing the middle, and will potentially complement the re-signed Zach Baun in the middle of the Birds’ D. He graded out per NFL.com at a 6.37 prospect grade – ‘will eventually be a plus starter’ – and a NextGen Stats score of 82, best among all linebackers the combine.

A local kid, Campbell is originally from Gloucester Township, and went to Timber Creek HS for three years before heading to IMG Academy in Florida and then on to Alabama.
