Update: The Eagles announced more details regarding the times and locations of when the Kelly green jerseys will be available on Monday, July 31st
After years of waiting and anticipation, the Eagles finally announced on Thursday when they will unveil their new kelly green throwback uniforms:
Monday's unveiling is two years in the making after the Eagles petitioned the NFL to change their "one-shell" helmet rule back in 2021, allowing the team to add a second helmet to their wardrobe. The Eagles wore an alternate black helmet in 2022.
With the new rule in place a number of other franchises have already announced throwback uniforms for this season, including the Seahawks, Titans and Buccaneers.
The Eagles last donned kelly green uniforms in the 2010 season opener when they paid tribute to the 1960 NFL Championship Team against the Green Bay Packers. A game perhaps best remembered for Michael Vick replacing Kevin Kolb after the latter suffered a concussion.
The latest iteration of these jerseys will be based on the 1980's uniforms worn by legends like Reggie White and Randall Cunningham.
