DeCamara, Ritchie debate Howie calling Eagles 'much better'

Here's what Howie Roseman said on 94WIP this week, spurring debate on Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie.

"I also thought just based on what we've done this offseason, that we'd all talk about how much better the team is because I think the team is much better."

Ritchie does not believe the Eagles got better:

"This is really laughable in my mind," Ritchie said. "There's one guy who might play immediately and he's going to be a part time player, yeah Jalen Reagor. He's probably going to be splitting time with Marquise Goodwin. Neither guy is the young, elite, wide receiver that Carson can grow with that we were promised.

"Compare the weapons that he has at his disposal now! They just handed us our behinds in the draft. They've got a new coach in Mike McCarthy. The rest of the division got so much better in this draft and I'm sitting there dumbfounded at the stupid picks we made at (rounds) one and two...we are not where we need to be."

DeCamara agrees with Roseman and disagrees with Ritchie, but does have some reservations:

"I see Darius Slay, that's a major move," DeCamara said. "It was a major area of need. Javon Hargrave, that helps a lot.

"There is no question the Malcolm loss hurts...I think they made the right decision, but losing Malcolm Jenkins in 2020 hurts. I'm concerned about (Andre) Dillard, I'd rather have (Jason) Peters than Dillard. Eagles got more injured players coming back than most teams, because they had more injured players.

"I do think the Eagles got better, but to me the single biggest development in this division this year -- and it may not all manifest in 2020, some of it will -- was the coaching got better."
