The Morning Show crew posed the question to fans whether or not the Eagles could be better than last year's dominant group, and within the studio, the opinion was split.
For Joe DeCamara, it's hard to imagine a team being able to improve upon a 14-win season and a Super Bowl appearance.
"Fundamentally, it almost seems weird to say the can improve from 14-3," Joe said. "But they didn't win the Super Bowl…and I think a lot of us believed this was the best team in Philadelphia sports since the '83 Sixers. I'm gonna stand by that. I know the '17 team won and the '08 Phillies won, but I think this was the best team I've seen in Philly sports since I was five years old.
"They were basically a bad second half from one of the all-time seasons…it's very hard for the Eagles to actually be better than they were last year."
Jon Ritchie is feeling much more optimistic.
"I think they can absolutely be better than last year's team, without necessarily improving on the record," Jon said. "The 14 wins, that's gonna be tough to improve eon because of how the schedule unfolds…but this is a team that is built the right way. They're built to win from inside. What if Jalen Hurts gets better? Jalen Hurts is going to continue his trajectory. I believe that. I also believe some of the young guys we brought in, I'm really excited about Jalen Carter…you're gonna see a young player who not only can stop the run, but can rush the passer with the best of them.
"This offense is based on the run to start, and I didn't like the running back the last couple years. I did not like Miles Sanders…I thought he was average. I wanted him to be better. I wanted him to be elite, and he wasn't. Now we have a combination of guys who have been elite when healthy in this league, and you gotta assume they can combine to give you something."
