After a late hit on Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell, future Hall Of Famer Jason Kelce apparently sprinted 50-yards to hit Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin during joint practice on Tuesday.
The hit resulted in a huge fight, the second of the day between the two teams, and the practice was ended.
Franklin, 27, is from Philadelphia and grew up an Eagles fan. After the practice, Franklin said, "I thought the OG would look me on the eye before he hit me."
Gainwell told reporters, "We're a team. We ain't going to let nobody come in our house and take over…We whopped they ass, so."
After practice, Kelce admitted he let his emotions get the best of him and said he's a "little bit ashamed" of what he did. Kelce was also complimentary in Zaire Franklin.
"It was the most spirited practice I've seen during this training camp," Howard Eskin said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "It was better than the game last Thursday night."
