The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be without a key piece of their offensive line the remainder of the season, but are hopeful for better news once the playoffs start.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pro Bowl offensive tackle Lane Johnson is not expected to play again in the regular season due to a torn tendon in the abdominal area, although the team is hopeful he will return for the postseason.
Johnson, who left Saturday’s loss to the Cowboys late in the fourth quarter with an injury, underwent tests that revealed the extent of the injury. Johnson was replaced by Jack Driscoll.
The Eagles, who were without quarterback Jalen Hurts due to a shoulder injury this past week, currently sit atop the NFC at 13-2 and are in position to clinch a first-round bye. Saturday’s loss, however, only puts them a game ahead of the Vikings, who are 12-3, although the Eagles hold the tie-breaker over them should they finish with the same record.
