Eagles running back Miles Sanders, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Washington.
In addition to Sanders, defensive end Derek Barnett has also been ruled out. Taking their places on the roster will be guard Sua Opeta and defensive tackle TY McGill, who have been called up from the practice squad.
With Sanders and Barnett now officially out, the biggest question heading into the game will be if right tackle Lane Johnson plays. Johnson is questionable with an ankle injury.
The loss of Sanders is a big one for an offensive that was going to relay heavily on him this season. Sanders has missed the last three weeks of training camp practices, but did take part in some practice leading up to this Sunday.
With Sanders out the Eagles will have to give backups Boston Scott and Corey Clement an increased workload.
"I feel pretty good about it," Scott said earlier this week about how confident he feels if he needs to be the top back. "I definitely trust in the coaching staff, I trust in Doug P, I trust in Duce, and I trust in myself. I think they will put me in situations to be successful, and from there, I am trusting my preparation and I am just going to do my best to stay humble, stay present in the moment and plays will come to me."
