The Philadelphia Eagles are signing three-time first-team All-Pro free-agent linebacker Shaquille Leonard to a one-year deal, the team announced on Monday.
The Leonard signing comes one day after Philadelphia was lit up by the 49ers to the tune of 42 points, 456 total yards, and plenty of missed tackles.
The Cowboys reportedly "made a strong push" for Leonard, who ultimately chose Philadelphia and will likely make his debut as an Eagle this week on Sunday Night Football in Dallas against the Cowboys.
Leonard, 28, was released by the Colts on November 21st after reportedly being frustrated by his lack of defensive snaps, as he returned from his 2021 offseason back surgery.
Leonard missed most of the 2022 season after suffering a setback with his back and was eventually placed on injured reserve.
Leonard made four All-Pro teams (three first-team, one second-team) and three Pro Bowls in his first four healthy NFL seasons.
