Eagles sign Le'Raven Clark: Everything to know

The Eagles have added another veteran linemen — but this one is on the offensive side of the ball.

The Eagles have signed offensive tackle Le'Raven Clark, a swing tackle that has a history with head coach Nick Sirianni, the team announced on Wednesday.

Clark, 28-years old, is 6-foot-5, 311 pounds, with 47 games played in his four-year career.

Here is everything to know about Clark:

*** Clark has played 47 games, but has only started 15. He spent the majority of his time the last two seasons at left tackle, but also has plenty of experience at right guard, giving him the versatility the Eagles look for in their offensive linemen.

*** Clark's 2020 season came to an end in Week 13 when he suffered a torn Achilles. Presumably the team believes he will be ready to go for the start of the season, but his injury status is something to monitor moving forward.

*** Clark played for Sirianni during his time with the Indianapolis Colts, where he has spent his entire four-year career. This is one of the first players added this offseason that has a tie to Sirianni.

*** Clark likely isn't guaranteed a roster spot, but like most veteran signings this offseason, he will certainly enter camp expecting to win a roster spot. The question is whose spot will he be taking. If the Eagles project Clark to be a top backup at left tackle, this could be bad news for Andre Dillard, or the sign of an upcoming trade. If it is right guard, perhaps the Eagles are looking for veteran depth at the position because they plan on playing Landon Dickerson at right guard — and moving on from Brandon Brooks.

*** The addition of Clark is yet another sign that the Eagles are going to try to compete in 2021. This isn't a big-money, long-term deal, but it is a veteran that will improve their offensive line, which in turn will improve the team. With Clark and Ryan Kerrigan added this week, two veteran linemen, the Eagles clearly plan on making sure their lines are ready to go for this upcoming season.
