Following the Eagles’ 31-7 dismantling of the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, New York City's Empire State Building was lit up green to celebrate the NFC Champions:

While the replies to that Tweet were as savage as you’d expect from New Yorkers – ranging from the usual slate of memes to “Theory: Maybe they had that color ready for the Jets and were tired of waiting” to “did y’all lose a bet?" - the fact is that perhaps those who make those decisions decided, one week after the Birds waxed the Giants 38-7, to show solidarity to their NFC East brethren after they similarly clobbered San Francisco?

Sure, it's incredibly unlikely the Liberty Bell would ever be emblazoned in Mets blue and orange if they beat the Phils en route to the World Series, but hey, we'll take it.
