The reevaluation of Carson Wentz continues, and this time a former Dallas Cowboy decided to weigh in.

The Cowboys' nine-year, defensive lineman Marcus Spears was on Get Up! On Tuesday morning and compared Wentz to current Saints backup quarterback Jameis Winston.

Here is what Spears had to say:

"Carson Wentz is a flash player, that's who he is. Outside of the MVP season before he got injured, he's an up and down player. Highs are very high and lows are as bad as you can get.

"Now bare with me when I say this: this reminds me, personally, of Jameis Winston.

"How many times have we said Jameis Winston looks like a top five quarterback when he is playing at a high level. Then when he plays terrible and starts throwing interceptions like what Wentz is doing this year - the fumbles have been the issues but he had not really given the ball away in the air - we start talking about how this isn't going to get it done. You will be bouncing around trying to figure out what kind of guy you are.

"The worst thing you can be in the NFL is a guy that your coach doesn't know what he is going to get on Sundays, and that's what Carson Wentz is becoming. He better be very careful because Jalen Hurts was drafted in the second round, and the second round is not just a pick you throw out there to say we need a guy to back our quarterback up. Be very careful Carson Wentz, you better get this thing right real, real fast."

Spears, who has worked with ESPN as an analyst on NFL Live and other shows, was called out last December by Dan Orlovsky for doubting Wentz during his late season playoff push. Orlovsky has been critical of Wentz's play lately, saying his four interceptions are a result of trying to force throws. Whether it's a case of problematic quarterback play or Wentz's actual ability as Spears suggests is yet to be determined.
