Eagles defensive end Genard Avery was carted off during practice on Wednesday morning.
Avery was participating in an 11 on 11 team drill when he went down immediately after contact and grabbed his right knee. He was apparently consoled by teammates coming off the field.
Avery was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2018 draft by the Cleveland Browns out of Memphis. In the middle of last year, Avery was dealt to the Eagles for a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Avery played in all 16 games his rookie year with the Browns, where he collected 4.5 sacks. Last year though, the Browns played him in just two games before trading him to the Eagles. In eight games with Philadelphia, Avery was on the field for 33 snaps.
