Giants fans, and New Yorkers as a whole, likely didn’t approve of the Eagles’ meal choice while they watched Big Blue take down the Vikings over the weekend.
Philly head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters on Tuesday that the team ordered Pizza Hut, mainly because Sirianni was craving a stuffed crust pizza. Together, they all watched Daniel Jones and company beat the Vikings, earning their first postseason win since Super Bowl XLVI.
“I was kind of craving Pizza Hut stuffed-crust pizza,” Sirianni said.
“I haven’t had that in a while. That’s not something I get to get at home. So we had that. It was in the offensive staff room.”
The Eagles, resting on their bye week after clinching the top seed following a narrow win over the Giants’ backups in Week 18, had the luxury of eating bad pizza while New York battled to keep its season alive. But while the Eagles scouted the Giants, many fans put Sirianni’s comments, and taste in pizza, under the microscope.
Some Giants fans hilariously thought it was a display of the Eagles overlooking their opponent (for some reason), and thought Pizza Hut could be Big Blue’s new bulletin board material.
Giants are really grasping for straws here.
