Greg Cosell, an NFL analyst and senior producer at NFL Films, says Eagles' first-round draft pick Jalen Carter reminds him of a mix between Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy.
"Well, he's definitely a great player," Cosell told Jon Marks & Ike Reese on Monday when asked about Carter. "The tape tells you that. He obviously dropped to nine for reasons that had nothing to do with his tape.
"I almost saw him as an interesting mix between Suh and Gerald McCoy. He's kind of that guy. He's powerful—because Suh was a power player, much more than a quickness player and McCoy was a quickness player, much more than a power player. Carter can kind of do both. Carter is a great player on tape. As we said, we all know why he dropped, but the tape is phenomenal."
Carter, who fell to No. 9 overall in the draft, is sometimes questioned for his motor and work ethic. Cosell does not believe there is an issue there.
"I don't think there's a problem with the motor. He actually played more snaps as the year progressed."
