One million dollars.

Jalen Hurts was the 53rd overall pick (2nd round) of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft, securing himself a four-year contract worth $6.02 million, with $1.94 million guaranteed.

So how did Hurts spend his first one million dollars? Very humbly.

"Of my first million, I probably spent $165,000," Hurt said in a video with GQ sports.

"The very first thing, I went to the mall in Philadelphia. I got a Philly cheesesteak from Larry's, of course, and I went and got some Philadelphia gear," Hurts said. "I went and got some bomber jackets, a Kobe one, an Eagles one, I have a Phillies one. All the Philadelphia gear I got probably added up to a $1,000.

Hurts also said he bought some "real jewelry," clothes, shoes and spent about $30,000 on that.

"Charity is probably the biggest one," Hurts says, and talked about how he donated $30,000 to a family whose child is battling cancer and $60,000 total giving back.

Rent, wifi, phone bills = $30,000 this year for Hurts. Hurts stays at his mom's house when he goes back home and rents an apartment in Philadelphia.

Hurts continues to go through how he spent his first one million dollars in the video above.

Hurts says he did hire a financial advisor and has three tips on how to save money.

"Instead of buying a brand new car because it depreciates as soon as you get off the lot, you can buy a used car or lease a car. Instead of going out to eat all of the time at these five star restaurants, you can simple cook at home. Or, a person like me, I'm going to take me a few to go plates from the [Eagles' practice ] facility. The third way you can save money is on the phone plan, like straight talk, because it runs on the same major networks as other brands. Instead of hiring a landscaping company, you can hire a local kid from the community to come cut your grass like I used to do."
