Didinger: 'Howie Roseman built best roster in NFL'
Ray Didinger says Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman built the best roster in the National Football League.
"When you factor in all of the aspects of roster building with the draft and then the free-agents that he brought in," Didinger said of Roseman on Monday's 94WIP Morning Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. "And the other thing that nobody really talks about, but is really important in the overall scheme of things, is the extending of contracts. Extending contract of existing players who are young and really have a future, and you want to lock them up. Doing all that too.
"I don't think anybody would argue that this is the best roster in the NFL, the best top to bottom. They're that good and Howie is the guy who built it, that's for sure."
Roseman is building a Hall Of Fame resume, as he looks to win his second Super Bowl in an eight-year window.
Didinger also spoke about Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, who became the third NFL head coach ever to reach multiple Super Bowls in their first four seasons as head coach.
"Over the course of this year he's made some decisions and done some things that had me shaking my head," Didinger said of Sirianni. "I think a lot of people felt that way. But the one thing that you cannot deny and this is where winning coaching really begins—is do the players believe in him? It's not what you're drawing up on the blackboard. It's not what you're saying in front of the meeting room, really. If the players don't believe what you're saying, if the players don't believe the game plan you're giving them than it doesn't matter if it's good, bad or indifferent...It's not going to work. It has to start with them believing he knows what they're doing…
