Orlovsky: Would rather start franchise with Howie than Mahomes

Would you rather start an NFL franchise with an elite general manager like Howie Roseman or a Hall Of Fame quarterback like Patrick Mahomes? ESPN's Dan Orlovsky is taking the GM.

"A great GM because [quarterback] is the most dependent position in all of sports," Orlovsky told Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio live from Radio Row at the Super Bowl on Thursday. "The quarterback needs people to go and have a real chance to win the Super Bowl. If you think of the last 10 years of the NFL, I could name you probably 10 great quarterbacks that never won the Super Bowl.

"The teams and the organizations, and you know this, that consistently even have the chance is more likely because their roster is really good, than they got a great quarterback. The great quarterback can cover up a lot, he can, but over the course of time you're not going to beat the other great quarterback that does have the roster. That's the thing that people sometimes forget about Kansas City too is, they were a playoff team when they drafted Patrick Mahomes."
