Isaiah Rodgers: 'I want to make enough plays for being out last year'

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Isaiah Rodgers would not give an exact number goal for his 2024 interception hopes, but did say he wants to make up for missing the entire 2023 season.

"I never really set a number, but I did say I want to make enough plays this year, of course to win, and to make up for being out last year," Rodgers told Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show live at Eagles Training Camp.

"So if it's six picks, I'll view it as, it's not a six pick season—it's three this year, three last year."

Rodgers, 26, was a sixth round pick of the Colts out of UMass during the 2020 NFL Draft, Nick Sirianni's final year as Indianapolis' offensive coordinator.

Rodgers was suspended in June of 2023 for the entire 2023 NFL season for violating the league's policy on gambling and was waived by the Colts. On August 28th, 2023, the Eagles signed Rodgers, who will make just over $1 million in 2024 before becoming a free-agent after the season.

In three NFL seasons, Rodgers was productive, recording three interceptions, 10 pass deflections, one forced fumble, two tackles for loss, and 90 total tackles across 45 games (10 starts).

Howard Eskin believes Rodgers will be a starting cornerback for the Eagles in 2024 and Eliot Shorr-Parks stated back in May that Rodgers could be one of Howie Roseman's biggest steals ever.
