Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio agrees with former linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, who said on 94WIP this week—in a complimentary fashion—that defensive tackle Jalen Carter "doesn't even know how to play the position yet, sky is the limit."
"I agree with the point he's trying to make," Fangio told the media on Tuesday. "The good news about Jalen is two fold. One, he played very well for us last year and two he can still improve a lot."
The original quote from Trotter came during Monday's 94WIP Afternoon Show at Brian Dawkins' charity golf outing.
“Nothing he's doing surprises me," Trotter said of Carter. "Word is on the street, he doesn’t even know how to play the position yet. From guys I talk to inside, he doesn’t even know how to play the position yet. He’s just playing off of raw talent. The sky is the limit for this kid, I'm excited about his future.”
Carter, 24, was the Eagles' ninth overall pick in 2023. Carter has recorded 20 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 32 games played in his first two NFL seasons.
