Jalen Hurts said after the game that he tried to not pay attention to the Eagles' fans chanting, "Run the ball!" And then he took a slight shot at the fan base.
"Kind of get loud on offense. They're supposed to get loud for the defense, not us," Hurts told the media following Monday's ugly 33-25 win over the Giants.
The Giants dominated the third quarter, winning the frame 15-0, and the Eagles continue to throw the ball to the dismay of the fan base. Eventually, Philadelphia started running the ball and eventually racked up 170 total rushing yards on 35 carries led by D'Andre Swift's 20 carry, 92 yards and one touchdown performance.
"Ironically enough, the moment it was mentioned on the broadcast, Kenny Gainwell ran off 22 yards. It worked!" Jon Johnson said on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show filling in for Joe DeCamara.
"He is right, but Rob, you can never, ever say that," Johnson said. "I did not appreciate those comments by Jalen Hurts. There are certain things, I don't care who you are, you can't say that."
