Jon Ritchie on Jalen Hurts ranked outside top 10 QBs: 'A betrayal of the truth'
Jon Ritchie believes Jalen Hurts being ranked outside of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL is a "travesty, joke, and idiotic."
"That's a travesty, my gosh!" Ritchie said on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show, reacting to the ESPN.com top 10 QB rankings. "A betrayal of the truth....This is a JOKE, Joe. That does sound idiotic to you, no? When this rings and you hear Jared Goff coming in at 9, this does discredit this list.
"I think they overreacted, they over adjusted for that downturn in play by Jalen."
ESPN surveyed NFL executives, coaches and scouts to rank the top 10 players at every position. Here is their quarterback ranking list:
1. Patrick Mahomes
2. Joe Burrow
3. Josh Allen
4. Lamar Jackson
5. Matthew Stafford
6. Justin Herbert
7. CJ Stroud
8. Aaron Rodgers
9. Jared Goff
10. Dak Prescott
Honorable mentions: Brock Purdy, Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts.
Last season, Hurts threw a career high 15 interceptions, as the Eagles' offense sputtered down the stretch and the team lost six of their final seven games, including a blowout playoff loss at the Bucs.
