Jalen Hurts would be in Joe Giglio's top five NFL quarterbacks for the 2023 season, so far.
"Guys, I just want to make this clear before we start," Giglio said at the top of Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show with Hugh Douglas. "I really like Jalen Hurts. I've been one of his, I think, biggest supporters since he's started here. I'm a fan. I love having him as the team's franchise quarterback and I think he'll be the best quarterback in Eagles history when he retires. I'm a big, big Jalen Hurts guys, but I don't believe he's played like a top five quarterback this season.
"I feel like Jalen has played well. I feel like Jalen has been very clutch...but down to down, play to play, I don't believe he has been a top five quarterback this year. I think he's moved back towards somewhere in the six to ten range. Good, very good. I don't think he's been as great as we've made him out to be at times this year. I don't believe he's been a top five guy."
Ike Reese chimed in on X, disagreeing with Giglio, calling Hurts a top three QB.
58.8-percent of fans, according to a WIP Midday Show X poll which is nearing 3,000 votes, says Hurts has played like a top five QB.
Hurts, in his third NFL season as the Eagles' starting QB, has the team at 10-2. He has completed 66.5-percent of his passes for 2,995 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for another 430 yards and 12 touchdowns.
On the flip side, Hurts has 11 interceptions and seven fumbles, giving him 18 total turnovers in 12 games. He has at least one turnover in every game this season except one (Week 4 vs Washington).
