The Eagles are releasing running back Jason Huntley, according to an NFL Network report.
Huntley was claimed by the team last year, but never really got onto the field as he spent the majority of the season on the inactive list.
Although he had a strong start to camp he was sidelined for most of the last two weeks, hurting his chances of making the team. His speed was very noticeable every time he touched the ball, however, which is a big reason why he could be back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
With Huntley released it now seems the Eagles will only be keeping, at most, four running backs on the roster. The next question is whether Jordan Howard makes the team or if he is released and then re-signed after final cuts.
