Jason Kelce believes new Eagles defensive end Robert Quinn is the perfect addition the team.
"I mean obviously he's a proven player in this league," Kelce said on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show. "He's been good pretty much every year. He's productive, he gets to the quarterback and he's familiar with this system. I've never met Robert personally, but I know a lot of guys that played with him. I reached out to Chris Long, who played with him in St. Louis, yesterday when the trade went down.
"I'm excited. Everything I hear about the guy is he's an awesome team guy, a great guy to have in the locker room, and he's productive. We're 6-0 right now and off to a good start, so it's good to see the Eagles are investing in this season. I think it's an awesome move."
Howie Roseman went out and added Quinn before this year's trade deadline in hopes of making a Super Bowl run, similarly to what he did in 2017 when acquiring RB Jay Ajayi. Kelce believes Quinn is the "right move" and will not hurt the chemistry of the 6-0 Eagles.
"Yeah, especially, it seems like the right move," Kelce said. "He'll fit into the team and the defense really, really well and it won't cause any type of drama. Obviously there are moves he can make and stuff like that where that could happen, but Howie is obviously very cognizant of that stuff and he felt like this one was a clear way to improve our football team, put pressure on the quarterback, and something that would not mess up the chemistry that we've already got going for us."
