Jason Kelce says the Bucs are his 'sleeper' team

Jason Kelce says the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are his "sleeper, scary" NFC team this postseason.

"I am probably biased, but I think the Bucs are better than a lot of people really think they are," Kelce said on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. "Maybe a part of that is because they beat the brakes off of us earlier this year. The only reason they're not a higher seed, or because their record wasn't better, is because [Chris] Godwin and Mike Evans went out in the middle of the season and Baker [Mayfield] really didn't have many options to throw the ball to. They have a good running game, when Evans is out there their passing game is much different, Baker Mayfield has played phenomenal and Todd Bowles is a great DC. Now Jayden Daniels has had a great year but I just think the Bucs are a more talented group and with Mike Evans healthy and all that I think the Bucs will win that game.

"[Bucky Irving] is a beast. They're very good in the trenches. Honestly, the Bucs—they're one of my sleeper, scary teams in the NFC. Again, that might just be because of the Birds game earlier this year. But I look at them, when Baker is on he has played incredible this year. Defensively, I just think Todd Bowles is a great coordinator and a great coach."

The Eagles will face the Bucs in the NFC Divisional Round in Philadelphia if both teams win this weekend, regardless of what else happens.

The Bucs handed the Eagles a 33-16 loss in Week 4 of this season, but Philadelphia was without A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson. Tampa also eliminated the Eagles in last year's Wildcard round and Jalen Hurts' first career playoff loss was to the Tom Brady-led Bucs in 2021.

Kelce picked the Chargers, Ravens, Bills, and Vikings in the other non-Eagles NFL Wildcard games. Kelce is obviously picking the Eagles over the Packers, no need to even ask.
