Jeremiah Trotter Jr.: 'Call me Axe Man Jr. out of respect for my dad'
Eagles rookie LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. sits down with the 94WIP Morning Show
Philadelphia Eagles rookie linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr., son of legendary Eagles LB Jeremiah "Axe Man" Trotter, says to call him him "Axe Man Jr." out of his respect for his dad.
"For me it's whatever people feel comfortable with," Trotter Jr. told Joe DeCamara on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show live from Eagles Training Camp. "I always say you can call me Axe Man Jr. if you want to do. I want to give him his respect because he led the way. I really just started doing the celebration to give thanks to him.
"When I did it...against Syracuse my sophomore, that was more to give him his props and say thank you to him, but everybody loved it. He loved it, he's like shoot, 'Everybody loved it and I like it, so we got to keep it going at that point.'"
The Eagles selected Axe Man Jr. in the fifth round of this year's NFL Draft out of Clemson, a heartfelt story around the NFL. Both Trotter Jr. and his father called into 94WIP just days after he was drafted by the Eagles.
