Jon Ritchie talks about getting fined for his hit on Hugh Douglas in 2001

94WIP's Jon Ritchie spoke about a play from 2001, when he was fined $10,000 for a hit on 94WIP's Hugh Douglas. You can watch the play here.

"It's been boiling over for a long time folks, this 2001," Ritchie said on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "We're going way back...We played one another, Hugh was an Eagle and I was a Raider and we whopped Hugh's ass.

"47 carries, 202 yards. So it was a commitment to the run above all else...There was a play where my job was to cut the end man on the line of scrimmage...We're in a personnel grouping where I am the big tailback and I am now blocking the end man on the line of scrimmage and my only job is to make sure his hands are down. How do you get his hands down? You chop his legs out...And I get to go chop the end man on the line of scrimmage and it's Hugh Douglas unsuspecting...I am coming full speed out of my stance, I'm staying up high, staying up high up until the last possible second...It's a great cut at the last second, Barry Sims our left tackle, put his hand gently on Hugh's shoulder pad. FLAG! It's a penalty. They called me for a post and chop...It wasn't a post and chop. Barry Sims was wrong! You're not even supposed to touch that man. Hugh Douglas was my guy!"
