Lane Johnson thinks 'Cam Jurgens can be elite'
Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson believes Cam Jurgens will be able to replace future Hall Of Fame center Jason Kelce.
"I think he can be elite," Johnson said of Jurgens on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "I think Kelc [Kelce] did a good job in his evaluations. When you look at Cam in the second level, probably one of the better players I've seen in space. And so it's what made Kelc so good and I think it's what caught Kelc's eye. He can press squat 550 pounds."
"Is Cam Jurgens in the same strength neighborhood as Lane Johnson?" Jon Ritchie asked Johnson.
"Yeah," Johnson admitted. "Cam was a shot putter in college at Nebraska and I believe I think his mother was a track athlete as well. Cam is a freak show."
Jurgens, the Eagles' second-round pick in 2022, is 10-years younger than Johnson and will replace Kelce as the team's starting center this season.
