Report: Zach Ertz, Miles Sanders out on Thursday vs. Giants

The Eagles entered Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens without four starting offensive linemen and their top two starting receivers.

It will be even worse this Thursday night.

Both tight end Zach Ertz (ankle) and running back Miles Sanders (knee) are expected to miss Thursday night's game against the New York Giants, according to an ESPN report.

Sanders is expected to miss 1-2 weeks, while Ertz is expected to be out 3-4 weeks, according to the report

Head coach Doug Pederson did not have an update on either player during his Monday press conference.

Both suffered injuries in the third quarter and didn't return.

Sanders' knee injury appeared to happen on his 74-yard run that resulted in a touchdown. Sanders was looked at in the trainer's tent, and did remain on the sideline, but didn't have a helmet and didn't return to the game. Boston Scott took his place.

Ertz left the game with an ankle injury in the third quarter, something that seemed to be bothering him prior to leaving the game. Ertz had his ankle worked on and tapped up on the trainer's table before re-entering the game, but went down at the end of an incomplete pass and had to be helped off the field by trainers before going back into the locker room.

With Ertz out the Eagles will be down to their third tight end, as Dallas Goedert is also out on Thursday with an ankle injury. Veteran tight ends Richard Rodgers and Jason Croom would likely be the team's two top options at the position.

If Sanders indeed doesn't play on Thursday the team will turn to Boston Scott, Corey Clement and Jason Huntley and likely use a backfield by committee approach.

With both Sanders and Ertz expected to be out the Eagles will be taking the field on Thursday night with just two starters on offense — quarterback Carson Wentz and center Jason Kelce.
