The Philadelphia Eagles are making a change ahead of Monday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

According to multiple reports, assistant coach Matt Patricia will act as the defensive coordinator this week while the team moves previous coordinator Sean Desai to another position.

Patricia, who was hired by the Eagles as a senior defensive assistant ahead of this season, has been consulting the club in all three phases, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Patricia is the former Lions head coach and spent last season as the offensive play-caller for the New England Patriots. Prior to coaching the Lions, Patricia was New England’s defensive coordinator from 2012-17.

The Eagles’ defensive unit has struggled lately, allowing an average of 30 points per game since Week 8, including three consecutive 33-point games. They have also allowed an average of 428.8 yards per game since Week 8 – the most in the NFL in that span.
