Mike Lombardi to Nick Sirianni: 'When will you grow up?'

Former NFL executive Mike Lombardi was asked what he would have told Nick Sirianni after his sideline outburst on Sunday if was the GM of the team.

"I think I would've not let him leave the stadium and called him up to my office and said, 'At what point are you going to grow up?' You have a job that's harder to get than United States senator," Lombardi told Ike Reese, Spike Eskin and Jack Fritz on Thursday's 94WIP Afternoon Show.

"You're one of 32 people on the planet. Your job is to show the other players how to act, behave, and think. You are representing the franchise. You stand on the sidelines that some of the greatest coaches in the history of this sport have ever stood on and you disrespect them the way that you disrespected them. At what point are you going to grow up? I get it your first year you were a young coach, but this is year [four]. This is Philadelphia. You piss off the fans you won't be in this job very long, you won't be here. I don't care how much you win, you're not gonna be here, they're not going to like you...When are you going to stop acting like you're a 16-year-old who just got back from hanging out with his buddies at the beach? That's what I would've told him."

Sirianni was caught by the FOX TV cameras going back and forth with an Eagles fan after Sunday's 20-16 win over the Browns and was criticized for potentially using his children to ease the blow of the postgame press conference.

Sirianni apologized on Monday and explained that apology further on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show.

"My energy needs to be devoted towards coaching the players," Sirianni said. "My energy is high and I'm constantly trying to coach these guys. It's not productive and if anybody took it the wrong way I wanted to apologize to them."
