Giglio explains why he's 'not all-in on Myles Garrett'

Joe Giglio explains why he is NOT all-in on the Eagles' trading for 29-year-old four-time All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett on Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show.

"I'm not all in," he said. "I'm sorry, I'm not all in on Myles Garrett...I look at this as a bigger picture thing.

Number one, the Eagles just won the Super Bowl without Myles Garrett...I look at the two Super Bowls the Eagles have won...Their leader in 2017 had 9.5 sacks (Brandon Graham). Their leader this year was Josh Sweat with 8...What they've had is a rotation, they've had a team, they've had depth...And taking a trade for Myles Garrett, which I'm guessing would include two first round picks, would hurt their depth.

"I went back and tried to find pass rushers like Myles Garrett...

Von Miller - last double digit sack season was 8th year
DeMarcus Ware - after 8th year averaged 7 sacks
Simeon Rice - zero All-Pros after 8th year
Of the 11 elite pass rushers who have four All-Pro seasons, 10 of them fell off after their 8th year

"I like Myles Garrett, he's a great football player. But if the cost is two first-round picks, if the cost is all-in, I'm not all-in. I would take him, but I'm not trading two first-round picks for Myles Garrett. The Eagles have the best team. They did that by building depth, not just one great player."

Former Eagles defensive end Hugh Douglas actually agreed with Giglio, but producer Kyle Quinn did not.

"We've benefitted tremendously from these young players...Cooper DeJean, just for an example," Douglas said. "If we give away our second round draft pick, there's no Cooper DeJean on this team."

"I am feeling like you two are so annoying today. I am so disappointed, especially in Hugh," Quinn said. "I just thought we learned our lesson last season with Saquon Barkley, but I guess not."

Speaking at the NFL Combine on Tuesday, Browns GM Andrew Berry was adamant that Cleveland is not trading Garrett, despite the defensive end's pre Super Bowl trade request.

Garrett, who turns 30 in December, has two years remaining on his contract with cap hits of $19.7 million in 2025 and $20.4 million in 2026.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Eagles would not want to see Garrett go to the divisional rival Washington Commanders and Howie Roseman would step in to try and prevent that.
