Russell Wilson to the Philadelphia Eagles? Well, ESPN's Chris Mortensen says Wilson is at the top of the Eagles' list.
Joining Adam Schefter on his podcast, Mort said, "The Philadelphia Eagles have a cache of first round draft picks and there's no question in my mind Russell Wilson is on the top of their list."
Mortensen reminded us that the Eagles wanted Wilson and almost took him in the second round of that 2012 NFL Draft with Howie Roseman in the front office and Andy Reid as the head coach. Daniel Jeremiah reported awhile back that the Eagles were ready to take Wilson with their 88th pick, but Seattle snagged him at No. 75 in the third round. Philadelphia took Nick Foles, instead.
Schefter adds that the Eagles, as we know, could have three top 20 picks and no team would have more ammo than Philadelphia.
Both Schefter and Mort agreed that the Eagles are not convinced Jalen Hurts it their QB of the future and any team should do whatever it takes to get Wilson, a 32-year-old eight-time Pro Bowl QB and a future Hall Of Famer.
"I know Jalen and I hope is he the guy, but so far they're not convinced," Mortensen said of Hurts.
The Seahawks were just 2-3 under Wilson this season before he suffered a broken finger, snapping his streak of 149 consecutive starts. This season he missed the first game of his career, amazingly.
