NFL will now have a Monday Night Wild Card game for the next 5 years


Wild Card Weekend will now spill over into the week.

Starting this postseason, the NFL will play a Monday Night game in the first round of playoffs for the next five years, airing on ESPN and ABC.

ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro announced the agreement on Wednesday, which included the inaugural game to be played on Jan. 17, 2022 at 8:15 p.m. ET.

The game will include a traditional broadcast with the MNF crew of Steve Levey, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, Lisa Salters and John Parry while ESPN2 and ESPN+ will carry its “Manningcast” with Eli and Peyton.
