McLane: 'Nothing embarrasses Lurie more than Eagles underachieving on offense'

How does Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie perceive Nick Sirianni's sideline antics at the end of Sunday's game.

"Nothing embarrasses [Lurie] more than an Eagles team that underachieves, especially on the offensive side of the ball," Jeff McLane reported on his latest episode of unCovering The Birds.

Two team officials labeled Sirianni's behavior as "embarrassing," according to McLane.

Joe Giglio reacted to McLane's podcast on today's 94WIP Midday Show.

"At the end of the season, the Eagles are going to ask if Nick Sirianni's coaching worth this?" Giglio said. "And that's where you come back with the success. If they win or keep winning and he has four straight playoff trips and maybe they win a game, then maybe they'll say yes it is. If they sputter out here and they go 8-9, he's not worth it."

Sirianni, 43, is in his fourth season as Eagles head coach. He is 37-19 in the regular season and 2-3 in the postseason, reaching the playoffs in all three of his seasons with the team.

However, over their last 12 games dating back to last season, the Eagles are just 4-8 and have struggled mightily on offense. This season, they are just 18th in the NFL in points per game (21.2).
