Nick Sirianni on bringing kids to presser: 'Only intention is love for family'

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni stood by his controversial decision to bring his three children to his postgame press conference immediately following his team's 20-16 win over the Browns.

"After a win, my kids love going up on that press conference with me," Sirianni told Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie during his weekly appearance on the 94WIP Morning Show (usually Tuesday's at 8:40am).

"And my only intention is to share a moment after that. I've learned in this game that it's hard to win and you have to appreciate the wins. My only, ONLY intention is my love for my family and wanting them to share that moment with me because again, because of my past."

DeCamara asked Sirianni if he plans to bring his children to future postgame press conferences.

"We'll see how it goes. Again, that is for my family and I think you'd do the same thing for your family if you think that is important for them."

Sirianni was caught by the FOX TV cameras going back and forth with an Eagles fan after the game and many criticized Sirianni for potentially using his children to ease the blow of the postgame press conference.

Sirianni apologized on Monday and explained that apology further on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show.

"My energy needs to be devoted towards coaching the players," Sirianni said. "My energy is high and I'm constantly trying to coach these guys. It's not productive and if anybody took it the wrong way I wanted to apologize to them."
