Nick Sirianni has secured himself a multi-year contract extension after leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl title.
The team announced the news on Monday afternoon, a move that shouldn’t surprise many given how Sirianni’s group rolled to a championship by dismantling both the Commanders and Chiefs in blowout fashion in the NFC title game and Super Bowl, respectively.
“As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success,” team owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a press release. “Nothing is more important to fostering such an environment than having tremendous leadership.
“Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago. His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team. I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles.”
This move may have been a stunner a year ago after the Birds stumbled their way to a first-round playoff exit before questions arose during training camp regarding how Jalen Hurts and his teammates viewed the head coach. But Sirianni left no doubt with one of the most memorable seasons in franchise history.
In four seasons as Eagles head coach, Sirianni has a 48-20 record, including three straight years of at least 11 wins. He has led Philly to two NFC titles and two 14-3 records in those seasons.
