5 reasons to be optimistic about the Eagles

Heading into an NFC Wildcard playoff game at the Tampa Bay Bucs, James Seltzer gave us five reasons to remain optimistic about the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show.

1. Confidence

"The tape," he said. "Those players are watching the tape of that game [from Week 3 win over the Bucs]. They're watching them beat the crap out of this exact team they're about to play."

2. Health

"They're as healthy as they've been all season, as crazy as it is. Darius Slay coming back, that has been a massive thing for this defense. Whether or not we like what we says off of the field and all that, the dude is easily the best cornerback on this team."

3. Talent

"As much as this Bucs team is underrated from a talent perspective...but the Eagles are more talented. They have a better quarterback."

4. History

"I remember being there in 2017. I remember Carson Wentz and us seeing Nick Foles going down...and then we won the Super Bowl. A specific example of a coaching staff changing midstream."

5. First game in six weeks where Eagles are desperate

"This is the first time for this team it's really win or go home for them...Again, I'm not saying they're going to win this football game...but maybe we have gone a little too far with all the negativity that we're wrapped up in the moment."

"It is a real stretch and I appreciate that you're stretching so much, Jimmy," Jon Ritchie said.
