A.J. Brown scrubbed his Instagram account of all Eagles related content ahead of the team's playoff game vs. the Bucs a few weeks ago and finally addressed the issue on today's Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams.
"That had nothing to do with football," the Eagles' star wide receiver said. "That's me just trying to grow as a person. Just trying to block out any negativity that I can."
Brown, 26, had a bit of a tumultuous season, his second with the Eagles. After a blazing start where he set an NFL record with six straight games with 125-plus receiving yards from Weeks 3-8, Brown had zero 125-yard receiving games the rest of the season and just one 100-yard game.
Brown finished the year with a career-high 108 catches for 1,456 yards (40 yards short of his 2022 career-high) and seven touchdowns.
The Eagles lost six of their final seven games, including a blowout playoff loss at the Bucs, in which Brown missed due to a knee injury.
Brown, controversially, went a few weeks without speaking publicly to the media during the Eagles' downfall.
On Tuesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show Jack Fritz proposed an idea, stating the Eagles should consider trading Brown for All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain II, which picked up steam on X.
Adams asked Brown about the "Twitter trade idea" on Wednesday.
"I've kind of been through this before," Brown said. "I'll remain quiet. If something happens, I'll be waiting by the phone. If not, I'll be right here."
