ESP: Eagles should sign Pro Bowl LB Shaq Barrett

94WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks believes the Philadelphia Eagles should sign former Pro Bowl linebacker Shaq Barrett to help replace injured defensive end Brandon Graham.

Barrett, 32, announced his retirement from the NFL last July but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Barrett has applied for reinstatement.

"Barrett played in 24 games over 2022 and 2023, finishing with 7.5 sacks and 78 pressures, including a very impressive 56 pressures last year," ESP posted on X. "Would be about as good of a singing the Eagles could make at this point of the season if they can pull it off."

Barrett played his first four NFL seasons for the Broncos and his previous five with the Tampa Bay Bucs, reaching the Pro Bowl in 2019 and 2021. Barrett played 75-percent of the snaps in Tampa's playoff win over the Eagles on January 15th, 2024.

Unfortunately, it appears that Barrett is only considering playing for the Bucs or Broncos based on this interview he did in August.

The Eagles are expected to sign DE K.J. Henry to their practice squad, Mike Garafolo reports.

Graham, 36, suffered a torn triceps in Sunday night's win over the Rams. Graham was putting together an impressive season, his 15th in the NFL, contributing much more than many expected.

An emotional Graham broke down on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show discussing his season-ending injury.
