The Philadelphia Eagles will be a part of the NFL's first ever game in Brazil on Friday, September 6th to kick off the 2024 season.
Joe DeCamara is not a fan.
"Is it a bummer to lose a home game? Yeah. Does it technically hurt the Eagles? Yes, but I accept that over 10 years you know it's going to happen at some point," DeCamara said on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show.
"Conceptually game in Brazil? Cool. Yeah, cool. I don't like it Week 1. It just feels off...I don't like, as an Eagles fan, this thing to kick off the season on a Friday night."
"We just went through a whole damn season in which I could never get a Sunday at one [o'clock] game...I just want to get them back on track. Sunday at one, bang! Television right there. And now I've got a freakin' night game right out of the bat. Now that's just me."
James Seltzer, as well as the majority of Eagles fans via the 94WIP Morning Show poll on X, agreed.
"I hate it," Seltzer said. "I am one hundred percent on your side. I think it's a horrible way to start the season. The worst possible way they could have given us. I think it's horrible!"
Former Eagles fullback Jon Ritchie was much more positive about the Eagles' heading to Brazil for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.
"I think it's fascinating," Ritchie said. "When I think of Brazil, I think it's an exciting world that I've never been anywhere close to. Feels, man, feels like a spot, a destination. Brazil!"
