Joe Giglio believes Philadelphia is being overly critical to new offensive coordinator Brian Johnson.
"I think Brian Johnson is getting way too much heat in Philadelphia," Giglio said on Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "I don't understand it. The Eagles are one of the five best offenses in the NFL...A lot of the numbers are very similar to last year except the turnovers. I think Brian Johnson has done a good job this season."
The Eagles have been outgained by 100-plus yards in each of their last four games, despite winning them all. And in each game, Philadelphia has gotten off to slow starts offensively and rallied to come back from halftime deficits.
For the season, Philadelphia is ninth in the NFL in total yards per game (364.3) and third in points per game (28.2).
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Johnson is expected to be a top head coaching candidate this offseason.
