Mike Quick 'agrees completely' with Eagles' decision to rest Saquon Barkley
Philadelphia Eagles radio color commentator and former wide receiver Mike Quick "agrees completely" with the team's decision to rest the starters in Week 18, including Saquon Barkley, who is just 101 rushing yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson's single season record.
"I think it's the right decision," Quick said on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show. "I think they have a really good way of doing things, in the fact that they talk to everybody...These seasons are so long, they take so much out of each and everyone of these men. It may not seem like a lot, but having a week off where you're not tearing down your body and you're trying to recover somewhat, I think it makes a huge difference. So I completely agree with the decision."
The Eagles are already locked into the NFC's two seed and Nick Sirianni announced on Wednesday that he will rest the starters, including Barkley, as the team gets ready to face the Commanders or Packers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs on January 11th, 12th or 13th.
Barkley seemed disappointed, but admitted he understands the decision and is focused on the bigger goal.
