Jason Kelce deflects to coaches, teammates and luck when asked about being a Hall Of Famer

Jason Kelce has been named to five All-Pro first teams and has reached six Pro Bowls.

Joe DeCamara asked him on Wednesday how does it feel to be a lock for the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.

"I don't know," Kelce told the 94WIP Morning Show. "Obviously, to be in the consideration for an award that has the names that that one does is pretty humbling and gratifying. Part of me, as a football player, doesn't think individual awards should be a part of this. I think football is the greatest team game, bar none not even close, on the planet.

"For me, I know that I have been probably not even getting a chance in the NFL if Howard Mudd is not an offensive line coach. I know that I'm not having the career I did if I don't transition from him to Jeff Stoutland and there are years that I didn't play well if I didn't have good guards next to me, good tackles...I've played for four different head coaches, all of which have been massively successful."

Kelce mentioned teammates like Jason Peters and Fletcher Cox as guys who would have succeeded in the NFL under any circumstance, unlike—in his humble opinion—himself.

"I feel a little bit it is underserving to a certain extent because of that regard," Kelce admitted. "Now, I have had longevity and all of these other things and I've worked for it, there ain't no doubt about that. I just think to some degree the Pro Bowls, the MVPs and all of these things, I feel like those awards are for the fans. To me, individual awards, I just don't care man. How good were you guys as a team? How successful were you? How did you battle through adversity? That's what the game is about. But it's an honor for sure and we'll see one day if that happens."

Kelce, along with his brother Travis (and likely many other celebrities) will be in Sea Isle, New Jersey on Wednesday, June 28th for Kelce's annual Team 62 fundraiser for the Eagles Autism Foundation.

94WIP will be broadcasting live from Paddy's Green at O'Donnell's Pour House (3907 Landis Ave, Sea Isle City) all day from 6am-6pm. The broadcast is open to the public (all ages) from 6am-1pm. Kelce will be guest bartending at 4pm at The Ocean Drive.
