We all breathed a sigh of relief yesterday when news broke that Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson is having “a minor procedure on his knee and will be week-to-week."
Dr. Arjun Ramprasad, MD—a primary care sports medicine physician at Jefferson Health 3B Orthopaedics located in Langhorne, PA—joined the 94WIP Morning Show on Tuesday to discuss Dickerson's knee injury.
"Minor means arthroscopic and a shorter recovery period than if you had to do a bigger ligament reconstruction and in this case, it is very unlikely to be a meniscal repair which is a longer recovery too," Dr. Ramprasad said. "That would be something where he would be out three to four months and you'd be looking at the entire regular season, most likely."
Dr. Ramprasad is also head team physician for West Chester University, Nazareth Academy, Bristol High School, and Conwell Eagan High School.
